Tech Specs

The specifications below apply to in-banner ad formats where all text and graphics remain within the ad unit. 

Animation/Looping Guidelines

•There is no loop maximum, however total animation time for all loops combined may not exceed 15 seconds for banner ads.

•Ads may not contain elements exhibiting persistent rapid/flashing animation.

Audio Guidelines

•Audio must be user-initiated.

•Audio shut-off functionality must be clearly visible and accessible to the user.

•The method of audio initiation and termination must be the same (e.g. roll-over, click).

Video Guidelines

•Video play can be host or user initiated.

•Video stop/play/pause functionality must be clearly visible and accessible to the user.

•Video play may not exceed 30 seconds in length.

•Recommended dimensions are 300x225 pixels.

•Maximum video file size is 4.4MB.

Flash Coding and clickTAGs

•Submission of a backup GIF or JPG image is preferred, but not required; images must not exceed the standard file sizes outlined in the chart above.

•The default 15 to maximum 18 frames per second setting should be used as a guideline.

•The background color should be set by creating a bottom layer of the desired color.

•The ad must be submitted in SWF format.

•The ad must not prompt the user to upgrade to a newer version of the Flash player.

•All Flash creative should employ the Flash Tracking Kit (clickTAG).

•Flash version 5 is recommended.

Rich Media

•Polite, in-banner rich media is permitted, out-of-banner formats must be approved by UrbanAdserve.

•Creative must be served by an UrbanAdserve approved 3rd party; advertiser incurs all applicable serving fees.

•Maximum rich media file size is 4.4MB.

Third-Party Ad Serving We accept most third-party ad serving tags.

Late Creative Policy

•Advertiser is always responsible for the media purchased pursuant to the Insertion Order regardless of any delay.
